Is Our Election Fair?

In any state the authority of the government can only derive from the will of the people as expressed in genuine, free and fair elections held at regular intervals on the basis of universal, equal and secret suffrage.

But here, I am not talking about election for the authority of the government. I am talking about the election in my dormitory. Last Sunday night, we have held an election for choosing the head of committee of the dormitory. The election ertablished by the captain of each nine house. They discussed about it almost up to a month. The election was design like what the people have done in KPU but the difference is, this event will be hold once a year. From 9 representative of each house there are only three candidate that succesfully selected for the final election. On my own view, they are the best from the best. But, we have to choose one from the three candidate. The first candidate is Tedy-Bahrul, the second is Afif-Nizam, and for the last, Ahmad-Mini. All of the candidates are from eleven grader.

The struggle of their ambitions finally finished, when Ahmad-Mini won with the highest number of votes. In the other words, the students keep their trust to Ahmad-Mini. And of course, the students of the dormitory want to wait and see what they can do and when they can fulfill their promises to us.

Being a leader is not as simple as it seems. Its not about asking someone to do a, b, or c. Being a leader is about how to design a good planning for the better future.

Along the process of election, i thought that the captain of the house have tried hard to establish the event and prevent any dishonest activities that the candidates may do. They often gather and slept over night to prepare this event. And they try to predict what will happen along the election process. To prevent any dishonest activities, they made a special mark to indicate which person that already gave his or her vote. So each person will only give one vote.  So, on my view, this election is fair enough. There isn’t any kind of fraudulently that the committee do.
